Jeff Todd

Jeff Todd joined The University of New Mexico (UNM) Foundation as its President & CEO in September 2019. He has over 37 years of higher education advancement leadership experience. Under Jeff’s leadership, the Foundation developed its first strategic plan, Empower, guiding the Foundation’s exponential growth in staffing, operations, communications, and donor stewardship while preparing the University for its next multi-year comprehensive campaign.

The Foundation has committed itself to consistently follow best practices across the spectrum of activities in which the Foundation engages and to be a destination workplace for current and future advancement professionals throughout New Mexico and across the country.  The Foundation has established its first diversity, equity, and inclusion plan in this regard.

These efforts directly benefit UNM, its students, faculty, researchers, caregivers, and programs. During Jeff’s first three years at the UNM Foundation, the University community has raised more than $270 million from generous individual donors, and its Endowment has grown by $163 million. Jeff serves as part of the UNM President Garnett Stokes’ senior leadership team and worked on the project team to develop UNM 2040 –a multi-year plan to build the future of UNM that will provide both a vision of the University twenty years from now and a set of more immediate tasks designed to move UNM toward that vision.

Before joining the UNM Foundation, Jeff served as the associate vice president of alumni and executive director of alumni UBC for The University of British Columbia. During his tenure at UBC, he served as the co-director of UBC’s start an evolution campaign that raised $1.624 billion and engaged more than 130,000 alumni. He also served as interim vice president of development and alumni engagement for UBC.

Previously, Jeff was the executive director of the alumni association and director of alumni relations for Oregon State University; executive vice president for The University of Arizona Alumni Association; director of The Wooster Fund and director of alumni relations at The College of Wooster.

Throughout his career, Jeff has been actively involved with the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE), the Council of Alumni Association Executives (CAAE), and the Canadian Council for Advancement of Education (CCAE). He served on the boards of all three organizations and, most recently, as president of CCAE. He has presented at numerous conferences on a range of advancement topics. He received the CASE Crystal Apple in 2009 for teaching excellence, among other recognitions.

Jeff earned his degree from The College of Wooster. He and his wife, Jean, have two daughters.
