Department of Music Opera Fund

Our program presents two productions in the academic year. All students in Opera Theater are given the opportunity to perform in the opera scenes performances or the fully staged opera production accompanied by the UNM Symphony Orchestra. All of our costumes come from the Santa Fe Opera. Our goal is to educate and develop the talents of singers who have an interest not only in singing opera, but also in pursuing directing, musical theater, and developing the “whole” singer. We incorporate improvisational techniques and movement into the curriculum as well.
