The David Barbour Media Ethics Prize

Established by UNM alumnus Mr. David V. Barbour, The David Barbour Media Ethics Prize in the Department of Communication & Journalism, is awarded annually to one or more undergraduate or graduate students who write an insightful paper on the issues of media bias or gatekeeping processes. Students in the History of Media, Media Ethics and Law, and Media Theory and Research classes are especially encouraged to apply.
