Dora Heldman Rosenbaum Endowment for Collaborative Piano in honor of the Queen of Belgium
This endowment honors Dora Heldman Rosenbaum, 1906-2004, wife, mother, pianist, and teacher, died on August 24th in Albuquerque, NM, just 16 days short of her 98th birthday. Born in Cleveland, Ohio to a very musical family, Dora received her musical training from Theodore Leschetizky, the teacher of Padereweski. Encouraged by her parents, Morris and Rebecca Heldman, her sisters Lee and Fannie, and her husband of 49 years, Lionel C. Rosenbaum, Dora began teaching music at the age of 16 at the Cleveland Settlement House. It was an avocation she would nourish for the next 70 years.
