Julie Gorwoda Endowed Nurse-Midwifery Fund

This endowed award is given annually to a senior midwifery student who shows evidence of community building in midwifery, or interest in a career in midwifery education, or who demonstrates exemplary leadership while in the midwifery program. The award honors the retirement of Julie Gorwoda, CNM, MSN who was employed at UNM for 31 years in clinical practice, as a midwifery faculty, and finally as the Nurse-Midwifery Program Director/Concentration Coordinator from 1999-2013. The criteria for the award honor the cornerstones of her career.
