Lobo Food Pantries Future Fund Endowment

To address food insecurity issues among students at UNM, the Lobo Food Pantries offer food and supplies to students facing basic needs. Beginning in 2014, the Lobo Mobile Food Pantry partnered with the Road Runner Foodbank to start monthly fresh food distributions to the UNM community. As the demand and numbers of recipients grew, the Lobo Campus Food Pantry opened in 2019. The Food Pantries have provided food and supplies to over 1,000 students during academic year 2019-2020, even with most of campus being closed to in-person classes. The program is establishing this endowed fund to create a source of funding stability for this initiative on campus over the long term, providing reliable income to support the expansion of services and recipients.

Supporting this endowed fund will ensure the Lobo Food Pantries will be able to sustain its operations in the future with a long-term, reliable source of resources.
