Sustainable African Communities Fund

The University of New Mexico’s Center for Geospatial and Population Studies (GPS) is collaboratively working with the University of North Alabama and international participants from Kenya’s Ministry of Education, University of Nairobi (Kenya), and University of Dar es Salaam (Tanzania) to study the role of socio-economic factors in reproductive health decisions and HIV/AIDS transmission using participatory community research methodologies. Our hope is to understand the impact of changing gender roles on overall community health in two neighboring yet culturally distinct countries.
