University Chorus

The University Chorus is the chorus with the longest continuous history at UNM, dating back to at least the mid-1920’s. Today the group enjoys a well-deserved reputation of providing the community with fine performances. Since its beginning the group has functioned as a “town and gown” oratorio society. This choir of approximately 140 singers draws its membership from a remarkable mix of students, faculty, staff and community members of all ages and walks of life. Their diversity is united through a deep love of choral singing. It is one of the largest choral groups in New Mexico. The University Chorus, directed by Dr. David Edmonds, is a non-auditioned group which performs a major choral work with orchestra each semester.
