Veronica Reed Memorial Scholarship in Opera Studies

The Veronica Reed Memorial Scholarship in Opera Studies supports undergraduate or graduate students in good standing, pursuing a degree in the Department of Music. Veronica Reed was a graduate of the UNM Department of Theatre, and went on to have a career as an opera stage director. Through opera, she met her second husband, LeRoy Lehr, a bass soloist at the Metropolitan Opera. They retired to New Mexico and Veronica was very active at UNM. She served on the Alumni Association Board and Lobo Living Room Committee, and regularly attended performances at the College of Fine Arts. She was known and loved for her engaging personality, her energy and generosity of spirit and her presence will be sorely missed.
