Vex Robotics Competition Fund
In the University of New Mexico’s VEX Robotics event, organized by the School of Engineering, K-12 students team up to design, build and program robots. The robots have to perform tasks, such as building tall “skyrise” posts. Teams work together in alliances, which change throughout the game. Winners of the state championship held at New Mexico State University go on to compete in the VEX Robotics World Championships – the largest event of its kind on the planet. Nationally, the VEX program has grown 500 percent over the past five years. And New Mexico is the fastest-growing state.
