ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (June 9, 2020) – Delta Dental of New Mexico recently donated $75,000 to support UNM Hospital crisis relief funds. A majority of the donation, $50,000, will support the UNM Hospital Crisis Relief Fund, which provides funds for equipment, supplies and other needed resources to care for patients and protect healthcare workers during the COVID-19 health emergency. The remaining $25,000 will support the UNM Hospital Employee Crisis Relief Fund, which provides funds for food and lodging for healthcare workers during this time of crisis.
“It is our honor to support UNM Hospital and its healthcare workers who are working tirelessly on the front lines during this emergency,” said JoLou Trujillo-Ottino, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Delta Dental of New Mexico. “We have a long history of supporting our community, and we are proud to be able to provide this donation during this unprecedented crisis. We want to just say thank you for the incredible personal sacrifices that all of the healthcare workers are making to keep all of us safe.”
In addition, UNM Hospital has continued to fulfill its mission as the state’s only Level I Trauma Center, academic medical center, and safety net hospital, during these unprecedented times. UNM Hospital serves a unique role in treating a large, diverse population with complex and urgent health needs and teaching the next generation of healthcare providers.
“Generous support like Delta Dental’s provides immediate impact for our healthcare workers and our patients,” said Anndee Wright-Brown, UNM Foundation Senior Director of Development for UNM Hospital. “This is a shining example of the generous support UNM Hospital has received from the community. We are grateful for Delta Dental of New Mexico and for their commitment to UNM Hospital during this health crisis.”
