Doug Campbell

Douglas Campbell is Colorado-based entrepreneur experienced in the aerospace, defense and energy storage industries. He is currently Chief Executive Officer of Solid Power, a leading developer of all-solid-state rechargeable batteries for the electric vehicle market, a company he co-founded in 2011 as a spin-out from the University of Colorado Boulder. The company is currently qualifying its products for use in future electric vehicles in partnership with automotive OEMs including BMW and Ford. He has led the company through all stages of its growth including its recent public listing (NASDAQ: SLDP).
In parallel with establishing Solid Power, he co-founded Roccor, a component supplier for the small satellite industry. Mr. Campbell served as the Chief Executive Officer of Roccor until the end of 2018 and Board Chairperson until its acquisition by Redwire Space in late 2020.
Mr. Campbell was named a 2021 Most Admired CEO by the Denver Business Journal. In 2022, he was responsible for establishing the University of New Mexico’s Gerald May Department of Civil, Construction and Environmental Engineering, thereby creating the first endowed department in the University’s School of Engineering.
He began his career in advanced technology development at the Space Vehicles Directorate of the Air Force Research Laboratory at Kirtland AFB, NM. Mr. Campbell holds a B.S. and M.S. in Civil Engineering with a Structural Mechanics emphasis from the University of New Mexico.
