Paul J. Cassidy

Paul J. Cassidy retired from RBC Capital Markets on April 30, 2018, after 42 years working as an investment banker in the Public Finance field focusing exclusively on municipal public finance advising on debt policy, debt capacity and debt issuance. He joined RBC Capital Markets in April 1994 and opened the Albuquerque office of Rauscher Pierce Refsnes, Inc., which became RBC Capital Markets. He managed the office until his retirement. Mr. Cassidy’s experience includes debt origination as Senior Manager, Co-Manager or Municipal Advisor totaling over $24 billion in debt issuance.
Mr. Cassidy was appointed to the State Board of Finance in March 2019 by Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham. He also serves as Vice-Chairman of the Board of the Venture Fund the Treasurer of the Board of Directors of the Angel Fire Public Improvement District, the Board of Directors of NDI New Mexico and United Way of Central New Mexico. In addition, he serves on the public finance faculty of the New Mexico Edge program educating local government staff and elected officials.
While working, Mr. Cassidy was a Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) and New York Stock Exchange registered securities representative and municipal advisor holding Series 7, 24, 41, 50, 53, 63 and 79 licenses.
He received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Finance from the University of Wyoming in 1975.
