CAPS Greatest Need

Giving to the Center for Academic Program Support’s greatest need ensures that the CAPS Director can allocate funds to additional tutors for a student-requested math lab purchasing laptops for online tutoring services and providing additional Student Resource Representatives to cover a new CAPS satellite location.

CAPS Supplemental Instruction Program

The Center for Academic Program Support’s Supplemental Instruction SI helps students develop strategies for what to learn and how to learn through collaborative study sessions facilitated by a student SI leader who has previously excelled in the course.

CAPS Tutoring for Athletes Fund

The Center for Academic Program Support partners with the Assistant Athletic Director to provide support to UNM athletes as they strive for excellence both in and out of the classroom. CAPS Tutoring Technological Advancements

From software and web resources to laptops and Smartboards, the Center for Academic Program Support strives to provide access to cutting-edge technology to help students effectively integrate their course content with today’s changing technology.

CAPS Writing and Language Center Fund

In the Writing and Language Center undergraduate students work on their writing and improve their language proficiency in a relaxed friendly environment. The Center for Academic Program Support provides writing assistance in Spanish and many other languages as well as English.

CAPS Tutoring at the Ethnic Centers

The Center for Academic Program Support (CAPS) partners with El Centro de la Raza, African American Student Services, and American Indian Student Services to provide tutoring at the Ethnic Centers in writing, math, biology, and chemistry. Unique to the Ethnic Centers, CAPS offers drop-in writing labs for Spanish and Navajo students.
